This place is a freaking ghost town! Honestly, 26 members and no activity whatsoever. That's sad, people...

So, I figured I'd jump-start a lil' conversation with you guys in hopes of maybe sparking some activity here.


So what are your thoughts on Amazon thus far? Is he not the most violent rider EVER!? I'm just in love with the monsters-of-the-week as well, and the Ten-Faced-Demon is a total badass!

I've on;y watched the first 2 episodes so far but I'm enjoying it. The older Kamen Riders are pretty awesome (I base this on Amazon and Black). And yeah, violent is pretty accurate.

I'm not sure if I like the costume for amazon though. The red stripes look out of place and he's not an insect but a lizard (right? Sure I read that or it was mentioned in one of the episodes). But I can get used to it, I wasn't a fan of the GekiRanger costumes to begin with (No belts, ew!)

I am glad you like it, at first I was not into the whole costume but it grows on you.

Amazon looks like it might be a good series. It has some silly elements, like the "koo koo" sounds Amazon makes in his Rider form, and the overall ugliness of the monsters, but also some cool elements.

I like the fact that Amazon bites and dismembers his enemies so they bleed. If Amazon is going for the title of "most violent Rider ever", though, he has some competition from Shin Kamen Rider, who was also a fucking brutal fellow.

This is the only series I've seen so far to handle the "jungle boy" trope intelligently. Gekiranger turned it into pure comic relief, and Power Rangers: Wild Force used the trope... well, barely to any effect at all. Amazon, on the other hand, really is a savage, and has trouble simply learning to talk, as he well should have.

I will be watching this. Keep up the good work.

Good stuff isn't it . Wish more shows would spill some blood etc. .That's one cool thing with some of the older Ultra's. They had various weapons that would chop limbs off and decapitate their foes(monsters) etc. Too cool!!

thanks for keeping the episodes coming. Amazon is a great show, there's more real action in one episode than in most of the newer shows put together.

I've been keeping an eye on the site for awhile now, but I just joined the forums today. I just wanted to say thanks for subbing Amazon. For the longest time all I had was a single raw video and the crappy HK movie collection episode, but now I have high hopes of one day sitting down and watching all of the Amazon episodes back to back!

To me, Tokusatsu is like a fine wine, it only gets better as it gets older. The rider series started going downhill for me when Super-1 started. The series lost its 70s campy feeling and replaced it with silly plot lines and Riders who could do things that wen't posable in other series (Skyrider? C'mon!). I didn't even bother watching Agito or Kuuga. Tried watching Fizes and got bored 5 episodes in.

All I wanted to say was thank you for keeping the old school fansubbing community alive. Too many fansubbing groups are focusing on whatever is new, and forgetting there roots.
